A group of two letters and seven photographs. The correspondence consists of a one-page typed letter, dated November 19, 1952, from J.M. de Vlieger to Edouard-Léon-Théodore Mesens, and Mesens' four-page, handwritten response to Vlieger, dated November 29, 1952. The letters concern the eventual sale of the James Ensor painting "Christ's Entry into Brussels in 1889." Six black-and-white photographs present various views of the painting "Christ's Entry into Brussels in 1889" (including one with Ensor) and one black-and-white photograph depicts Ensor's painting "The Painter in His Studio."
